Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress, dancer and singer. Her early Broadway productions include Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. The Tony Award was given to Ashford for her role as Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh has worked on projects with award-winning directors, actors, and producers for most of her professional career. Ashford's next venture will be an exclusive Hulu show called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show premieres on November 22, and Ashford is starring alongside Kumail Najiani. Ashford has been engaged in the production of Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust with Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. This film is an Hulu Original and will be streaming on Disney DTC. The film will premiere in March 2023. Ashford will make a return appearance on Broadway and star opposite Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will form the team of creators for the show. Ashford appeared as Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's American Crime Story Impeachment, inspired by the scandal that included Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the nation crisis. Two seasons ago, Ashford was a star of the hit show on CBS called B Positive. She also appeared in the cult series, created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, which featured legendary actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Not a stranger to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her performance as Essie. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde are amongst her additional Broadway credits. Ashford, who was born in Denver and now lives in Los Angeles and New York.
